Leroy Merlin presents "Curves" and "Tatami" series for FSC certified outer packaging - The collections will be available for a limited time, have been made by communities of FSC certified wood producers of Guatemala following the principles of fair trade. His designs, developed in collaboration with IED Madrid, allow you to create a unique space in any outside: terrace, attic, yard, garden, etc..

Curves and Tatami represent the realization of a long-term project started over a year ago with the momentum of COPADE and AECID.

Since early June, will be available in stores Leroy Merlin "Curves" and "Tatami" the two limited series of outdoor conditioning products FSC certified wood, which have been made in fair trade conditions with producers and carpenters communities of Peten in Guatemala.

All items that are part of the collections "Curves" and "Tatami" are wood Pucté and Santa María (Guatemala native) and controlled felling from FSC certified. Besides the type of wood, the production of the series was made in this country, in timber communities and fair trade conditions.

The series "Curves" takes its name from the curved and irregular lines that draw the wooden slats. These sinuous lines of the fence, fence gate, the blind, the gardener or even the floor (tile format) help create a garden design unique and original home. For its part, the series "Tatami" is inspired by the Japanese tatami. Straight lines, the different thickness of the slats contributes to create rhythm in the composition of outer space be it a garden, a terrace and an attic. The collection "Tatami" consists of soil (tile format) and planters.

This project, which started a year ago with the design of parts for FDI school students in Madrid and has resulted in products that can be purchased at Leroy Merlin stores, has been possible thanks to the sum of forces and involvement of different actors: Trade for Development Foundation (COPADE), Spanish Agency International Cooperation for Development (AECID), Instituto Europeo di Design in Madrid (FDI) and Leroy Merlin.

The products will be available in store by time and limited quantity.
